How Long Does Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink Last?
It depends – if you wash your hair more than once a week, Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink will fade out after 2 or 3 weeks.
I wash my hair once a week, and the hair dye faded by itself after 3 and a half weeks. I think I can make it last for up to 4 weeks top, but I don’t believe that it’s possible to break the 4 weeks barrier with this specific tone.
Does Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink Work on Brown Hair?
No. Other Manic Panic colors might work on brown hair, but Cotton Candy Pink will absolutely not.
Your hair needs to be extremely light – I pre-lighten it before applying this Manic Panic color because I knew that it would not work otherwise.

Does Manic Panic Cotton Candy Rub off on Clothes?
Yes, but just a little bit. Cleaning Manic Panic hair dye stains is very, very easy.
This Cotton Candy Pink tone will hardly stain certain pieces of clothing, so worry not. I always wear an old T-shirt while I dye my hair, but in this case, I was 100% sure that stains are nothing to worry about.
Is One Recipient of Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink Enough?
A single recipient of Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink will probably not be enough.
I’ll give you two answers: the standard one and the experienced one.
I bought a small bottle of Manic Panic (4 oz), and I had to order two more recipients because it wasn’t enough.
But it depends on how long your hair is and what your intentions are. In general, I’d say that you need a bottle of 8 oz and a bottle of 4 oz on average – that’s two and a half recipients to make it work in all of your hair.
What Do You Need to Dye Your Hair With Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink?

So, I will include the exact list of things I used to dye my hair with Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink so you can understand my thought process while writing this review:
1. Developer: L’Oreal Technique Oreor Creme 30 Volume Developer – I used two bottles of this product to lighten my hair because my natural hair is dark.
2. Bleacher: WELLA colorcharm Powder Hair Lightener – then again, lightening your hair is highly advisable whenever you use pastel tones, such as this one.
3. Hair dye kit: The hair dye kit I use is the CREASTAR Hair Dye Kit. If you are missing gloves, bowls, and brushes, then this one’s for you.
4. Shampoo: I recommend you use a salt-free shampoo – the one I use is the Recamier Professional Salon In, but you can try whatever shampoo suits you.
5. Conditioner: My hair was a little damaged by previous dyes, so I used the Alfaparf Milano Reconstruction Reparative Mask conditioner, which I highly recommend
6. Product: I used one Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink recipient (8 Oz, but I should have used more!).
7. After hair treatment: I take good care of my hair after dyeing it, even if Manic Panic is not damaging at all. So, I used the marvelous Olaplex Hair Perfector treatment.
8. Hair dryer: I don’t use a standard hair dryer – instead, I use Nicebay Hot Tools Blow Dryer Brush Set. It is a premium product that I couldn’t live without!

Before starting, keep in mind that I am writing this product review based on my personal experience.
I have been dyeing my hair for ten years, so I know how to recognize a good hair dye product when I see it, and, spoiler alert, Cotton Candy Pink by Manic Panic is a really good product. Without further ado, let’s check out my Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink hair dye review.
1. Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink Price and Promotions
Let’s start with a decisive factor: the price. I bought a bottle of Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink for slightly more than I expected, but in my opinion, the high quality of the product makes up for the price.

2. Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink Packaging and Delivery
Manic Panic was delivered to me by Amazon in a little Ziploc bag. This hair dye does not come in a bottle, but in a recipient, so you need something to get it out of its recipient efficiently.
The bottle is extremely cute, small, and nice: you can easily see that Cotton Candy Pink is a cruelty-free and ammonia-free hair dye product.
However, handling and using the recipient was not as easy – I had to use my fingers to get the very last bit of product out of the recipient.
Another thing: the color displayed on the recipient is not an exact copy of the color of the product itself.
This is not bad since I was aiming for a pastel pink light color, but I think that this should be acknowledged by everyone. I give the packaging and delivery of Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink a 9 out of 10.
3. Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink Smell and Color
Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink is not creamy – it is more like a hair gel. The color is vibrant and cute, and it looks magical as soon as you open it.
But it has zero smell – this hair dye product does not smell at all. I have tried other Manic Panic colors, and they all had a sweet smell, but Cotton Candy Pink does not have a distinctive smell. In this case, I rate the color and smell at 9 out of 10.
4. Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink Application Process
The application process for Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink was smooth and quick. However, as I mentioned before, I ended up needing more product than expected.
It is super easy to apply if you have a brush, and the instructions are crystal clear on the package.
But I had to use way more hair dye than I would have liked. Also, I had to leave the hair dye on my hair for 50 minutes because the color was so light that I felt like it needed to rest in my hair for more minutes than recommended.
We are talking about a very pastel pink color, so leaving it for 30 minutes will not do the trick. In this case, I rate the application process an 8 out of 10 because it took me slightly more time than it usually does.
5. Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink Damage to Hair and Scalp Irritation
Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink feels awesome as you apply it! I have three things to say about the quality of this hair dye product:
- Cotton Candy Pink does not damage your hair whatsoever – it actually feels nurturing.
- You will experience zero scalp or skin irritation after applying Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink – NONE.
- Your hair will not feel weird, dry, or bad after applying Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink.
- That being said, this point is a 10 out of 10 in my books!
6. Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink Color Result
After applying the hair dye and drying my hair, I was able to see the final result of Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink.
The color is beautiful, pastel, light, and extremely cute. But it was lighter than expected. I know, I know – Cotton Candy Pink is, well, cotton candy pink.
But I was expecting a little bit more color, so I checked the process again and was finally able to come up with a result that I liked.
I must also say that this Manic Panic color is not “high voltage” – it’s soft and cute, but don’t expect a vibrant color. I rate the result at 9 out of 10 – this is a picture of me with my new Manic Panic tone!
7. Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink Fade Resistance
Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink doesn’t last for long. I have used Manic Panic colors that lasted 5 or 6 weeks, but Cotton Candy Pink lasts for 3 to 4 weeks top.
I wash my hair only once a week, and after week 3, I noticed that the color was fading.
Besides, and this is not a bad thing at all, Cotton Candy Pink is really easy to fade out (how to get Manic Panic out of hair) – I could get it out of my hair only by washing it with clarifying shampoo once or twice.
I like semi-permanent hair dyes that fade out easily, but in this case, I wished it lasted for a little bit longer. This is how the hair dye looks after 4 weeks.
Final Verdict: Is Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink Worth It?
Should you purchase Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink? I say go for it! I give this hair dye product a 9 out of 10.
The packaging is beautiful, the color is cute and nice, the product is cruelty-free and ammonia-free, and it is really easy to apply.
However, the color is not as accurate as they promise, and you might need more than one bottle to successfully dye your hair with Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink.
